Connect to the NOAA Website called Lesson 2 Mid Ocean Ridges

After we watch the video together, complete the questions by clicking on the Activities on the right hand side.

1- Complete the Mid Ocean Ridge Activity first . You must use the click and drag function to label the three maps first. Then you can use the slider to make each map more or less visible. Then answer the questions.

2. Click on the Sea Floor Spreading Activity. Read the background information and use the slider to reveal the magnetic bands on the either side of the mid ocean ridge. Then answer the questions.

Be sure to review Chapter 3 in the text book and in Chapter 26 the information about Time Zones and the International Date Line on pages 670-671.

Review the homework we had – Lesson 12 on Time Zones, the Directed Reading on Finding Locations on Earth and making a Profile from a topogrpahic map.   Also review the last quiz in which we identified locations by degrees and minutes.

Also, please review your notebook , pages 32-39.

Dream Destination Project

Today you will do the following:

1- Print out one(1) 8  X  11 picture of your DREAM DESTINATION

2- type up 5 clues that hint at but do not give away your location; you may have to do some research about your place in order to make good clues

3- look up the exact LATITUDE/LONGITUDE  in degrees, minutes and seconds

4- print out two (2) copies of the Latitude/Longitude and 5 clues
